Porcelain Crowns Inlays and Onlays

The tooth crown is the portion of your tooth above the gumline. As all of our crowns and bridges are metal free, these are beautiful porcelain restorations that can protect and preserve your remaining tooth structure after decay or damage while giving you an aesthetically pleasing solution for your smile. A crown is placed over the existing tooth structure when a single tooth needs to be repaired, restored or enhanced whereas a bridge is used to replace a missing tooth and fill in the gap created by the lost tooth structure. While dental implants are also an option to replace missing teeth, for those patients that need another option, an all porcelain bridge can be created to give the patient the esthetic look they desire along with function.

These porcelain pieces are customized to significantly improve the appearance of your smile and are designed to match the look, feel, and bite of a natural tooth. With proper care, the crowns and bridges can provide many years of comfortable chewing and a natural esthetic fit. As Dr. Viechnicki only uses the finest materials and dental labs for these restorations, we avoid the dark shadow or gray /black line that characterizes older-style crowns. With this modern technology, the durability of today’s porcelain mimics the strength of natural tooth structure closely and fractures are avoided.

Inlays and Onlays

Inlays and Onlays are the ideal option for restoring broken, chipped or decayed teeth, as well as for all amalgam replacements.

Porcelain Inlays and Onlays are porcelain fillings which are alternatives to crowns. With the removal of far less tooth structure in design, Inlays and Onlays are more conservative restorations, maintaining existing healthy tooth structure. When a tooth is cracked, or an old amalgam filling is leaking or failing, an Inlay or Onlay is an ideal way to restore the tooth. By removing the unhealthy part of the tooth which has decayed, old mercury fillings, or cracks, Dr. Viechnicki then designs your restoration for the ceramist to craft. The ceramist then creates a beautiful porcelain filling to fit inside your existing tooth. Once your Inlay or Onlay is bonded in place, your tooth will be stronger than it was before.
